All Projects Charlotte Speedway Club

This project called for the renovation of two full floors in the signature Smith Tower building at Charlotte Motor Speedway, including a 300-seat, tiered restaurant and bar area overlooking the main track; banquet and meeting spaces; a private bar on the fifth floor; and new administrative offices.

In the restaurant, new banquette seating was added to maximize seating with track views. Wood wall panels were refinished, and flooring was replaced throughout. Cove ceiling and custom granite flooring were added to define and accent a dance floor. High-efficiency lighting fixtures replaced existing fixtures throughout, increasing light levels while decreasing overall energy consumption.

A movable wall system in the banquet and meeting areas allows the facility to host multiple events, and mechanical window treatments give users full control of interior light levels.  Custom carpeting, wall coverings and plaster at exposed columns update the material palette.

On the 5th floor, aiDG converted an underused circulation zone to a private entertainment area. The two bars flanking the entry are finished with backlit, honey onyx to create a warm, rich glow in the space. Large HD monitors relay action on the track.
