When international company Barloworld selected Charlotte as the location for their North American headquarters, they asked aiDG to analyze their current facilities and identify opportunities for expansion. aiDG developed a study comparing new-build site options against renovation concepts for the company’s existing, leased facilities. Based on our research, the company’s board of directors decided to build a new facility that could accommodate administrative needs and incorporate a working repair shop for the heavy lift equipment that the company sells and services.
The new two-story building is a tilt-up concrete structure located on an eight-acre site along a main thoroughfare in South Charlotte. On the interior, a custom workplace integrates custom, open office areas with an employee lounge, conference center, and a large training facility. The executive suite includes a boardroom with the latest in A/V technology.
Additional program elements and services include a parts store with separate, exterior entrance; landscaping throughout the site; and specifications and installation for movable workstation systems.
