ai Design Group

It’s January what?

The new year is rocketing ahead, and while we look forward to sharing some of the new developments underway, we want to take a moment to appreciate and share a few of our highlights from 2015. It was, after all, our best year yet. So, without further ado, we present aiDG’s top 10 of 2015:

1. Winning Work

Babson
2015 saw two big wins for our team — Babson Capital’s new 6-story HQ and a full-scale renovation of 300 South Brevard.

2. Go West

Mercedes
And so our automotive team did, creating new dealership designs for Sonic Automotive like this Mercedes in Colorado.

3. Roll out

AAA Virginia Store in Richmond
Our AAA team saw their prototype design for AAA Mid-Atlantic‘s auto, travel and insurance stores start rolling out across the East Coast.

4. Be Our Guest

SouthParkmag
Did you see our restaurants in Southpark Magazine’s food issue? In other hospitality news, we added a hotel to our portfolio with a new Residence Inn by Marriott in Spartanburg.

5. Start your engines

As for our motorsports group, let’s just say that there are the rumblings of big things… #staytuned

6. Cue the award speeches

Our project MetLife U.S. Retail Headquarters got lots of love for both design and sustainability. 200 S. Tryon brought home top honors too.

7. People Skills

Joe-CRCBRAward (1)
We love to see our people receive the recognition they deserve, so 2015 left us beaming. Principal Ryan Doherty was selected as one of Charlotte’s 40 Under 40, and Principal Kim Marks and Project Manager Joe earned awards from CoreNet Carolinas and CRCBR respectively.

8. Community service

WeCare
Team aiDG logged 428 hours of volunteer service in 2015 for organizations including Habitat for Humanity, the Boys & Girls Club, USGBC, Classroom Central, and the Joe Martin ALS Foundation. It is our pleasure and privilege to dedicate time and resources to our local community.

9. LEEDing the way

EchoPark
MetLife earned LEED Platinum certification, and EchoPark earned LEED Silver. Our green team grew its list of credentials, too: Elizabeth Hamilton achieved GGP certification, Alyssa Goretoy became a LEED GA, and aiDG gained several LEED and GGP-accredited staff.

10. Watch us Grow!

NewPeople

To meet the growing needs of our clients, we added 10 members to our team in 2015, bringing us to a total of 45 design pros at your service. Add to that growth, the official launch of our ONE Global Design partnership, which extends aiDG’s reach to 18 cities across North America.
Look out 2016, here we come!
